Lua error: Cannot create process: proc_open(/home4/iltornan/lua/error.log): Failed to open stream: No such file or directory The 2220 Rabastor Unity Trophy was the fortieth edition of the Rabastor Unity Trophy, the biennial friendly international football tournament held in Callistea to promote good diplomatic relations between nations. As is typical for the tournament, matches were played in three cities within Callistea. The tournament began on 22 July 2220 (Osarian calendar) and finished on 6 August. This edition marked the first time a non-Rabastorian nation was victorious, as Emporer Pudu prevailed over Eristicea on penalties in the final match.

The 2220 tournament saw the Rabastor Unity Trophy expanded to six teams from the usual four, in order to extend the spirit of the competition to other nations. With the expanded tournament, the format was changed from a single round robin to a double elimination bracket.

Invited teams

As finalists in the most recent Baptism of Fire, both Emporer Pudu and Panem were considered good candidates to participate. As such, the Callistean Ministry for Sport sent invites to the respective associations. Despite not receiving the invites until the start of July, both associations accepted within 24 hours, and the line-up was finalised on 2 July.

The full list of participating nations was as follows:

Venues

The cities of Paphos, Dendera and Cythera were selected to host tournament matches, as has been the case since the inaugural edition of the tournament. Callistea is yet to host a tournament other than the Rabastor Unity Trophy, though with only three stadiums on the island capable of holding more than ten thousand supporters, the Callistean Ministry for Sport was said to be reluctant to set their sights on a more ambitious project.

Squads

Each team's squad for the 2220 Rabastor Unity Trophy consisted of 23 players (three of whom must be goalkeepers). Each participating national association was required to confirm its final 23-player squad no later than 3 working days before the start of the tournament. Replacement of seriously injured players was permitted until the listed kickoff time of the team in question's first game.

Osarius, once again participating in the competition as world champions, opted to send an under 20s team again. Senior national team manager Jermain Lewis did not take charge of the team either, instead this responsibility was delegated once again to Ayanna Barca-Carthy.

Match officials

A total of 5 referees, 2 support referees, and 17 assistant referees were selected for the tournament, all of whom were Callistean.

Draw

The draw was held on 15 July 2220 at 12:00 local time at the Royal Court of Callistea in Paphos, Callistea. There was no seeding of teams based on rank, but instead, teams were assigned an entry number. These entry numbers were used to configure the initial bracket, and thus decided which two teams were given a bye to the second round.

## Team
1 Eristicea Eristicea
2 Emporer Pudu Emporer Pudu
3 Osarius Osarius
4 Aquillian Aquillian
5 The State of Panem Panem
6 Kryosis Kryosis

Matches

The provisional match schedule for the tournament was released on 3 July 2220, once the Callistean Ministry for Sport had confirmed all participating nations. However, some match locations were later altered. Using the Oracle Predictive Performance Algorithm, likely results were simulated, and stadiums were assigned according to expected demand for tickets.

The first round, saw entry numbers three to six compete. The losers would go on to play for survival in elimination round one, while the winners moved on to round two. A similar process would repeat, with teams being eliminated upon suffering their second loss in the tournament.

All matches were played to ninety minutes, with extra time and penalty shootouts implemented where necessary to decide a winner.

Tournament ranking

In statistical convention in football, matches decided in extra time are counted as wins and losses, while matches decided by penalty shoot-out are counted as draws. For the purposes of this tournament, penalty shoot-out victories are counted as wins, and a defeat on penalties is counted as a draw.
